We are beyond thrilled to announce that Temple Ro is officially a PETA-approved vegan fashion brand. We join an amazing list of conscious, ethical companies who value compassion as much as style. We believe that one day every fashion choice will be cruelty free, and we'll be doing our part to help visualize this dream.
#nophotoshop
We said no to photoshop for this shoot! While touching up models to create a certain aesthetic or to produce the illusion of "perfection" can be one of the fun parts of fashion, it can feel disconnected with my heart's true intention of honoring each woman in her already prefect form. So for this shoot we honor @jypsystyles in all her glory with #nophotoshop. Let's normalize our bodies and our bruises and our stretch marks (this woman has had FOUR CHILDREN!) and let's let go of a retouched reality. 🙌🏽 (The photos have been color corrected to show the fabrics as accurately as possible, but Joli has not been retouched in any way.)

Blessed with Breasts Debut Event
One of the reasons I founded Temple Ro was to help women feel empowered through connection to their physical bodies. Blessed with Breasts is continuing this important work by bringing women together to celebrate body image through storytelling. From the website: "Blessed with Breasts aims to remove insecurity and scrutiny surrounding the female form so that women can refocus their energy on making a positive impact." I'm IN!
The founder of Blessed with Breasts was initially inspired to start this movement after - my heart seriously SINGS as I type this - wearing a Temple Ro Jumpsuit out on the town and realizing that it was the first time in her life she had left the house without a bra on and didn't feel self conscious! This was followed by a breakthrough that we should be able to OWN our bodies, in whatever shapes and sizes, and specifically our breasts, in whatever shapes and sizes, without EVER feeling self conscious in public. She realized that she'd been holding herself to an unachievable standard based on our media crazed culture of superficiality, sexism, and consumerism, and wondered what other women's stories were about their bodies, and their breasts. What if we had an evening of storytelling, through song, dance, photography, and more, where we can share our stories about our bodies? And thus, BwB was born!
I'm continually inspired by the amazing women around me that are stepping up to empower and support each other in so many creative and important ways!
Link to the event is here, and flyer is below.
Huge thanks to She Photography for the photoshoot.
Celebration & Ceremony
OUR FIRST CUSTOM CLOTHING EVENT FOR 2015 IS HERE!
Join us on Sunday, March 15th, to try on our new styles, explore our latest fabrics, and adorn your temple with custom fit garments perfect for festivals, fundraisers, meditation, yoga, gala events, getting groceries, travel, dinner out on the town, and everything in between. We have an extensive fabric library, including feminine lace and jacquard knits, sheer mesh and faux fur, animal and abstract prints, geometric crochet and burnout velvet, modal jersey in every color imaginable, the softest white and light colored fabrics for meditation clothing, and more. As always, Temple Ro only offers vegan fabrics, and we source sustainable, made in USA fabric whenever possible.
How it works:
1. Gather your favorite women and stop by the Temple Ro studio between 1-7pm PST.
2. Enjoy champagne, gluten-free treats, and good company.
3. Peruse fabric swatches and sample pants while having your measurements taken.
4. Fall in love with as many fabric/pant combos as you need to round out all aspects of your life, from celebration to ceremony.
5. Place your order and wait as patiently as possible for custom pants to arrive. If waiting becomes too uncomfortable, repeat Step 2 as many times as necessary.
Please bring the shoes you expect to wear with each look so we can get an accurate inseam measurement. If you have a color or texture you'd like to work with, please bring a swatch or sample so it can be matched.
If March 15th doesn't work with your schedule, The Temple Ro Atelier is always open for private appointments! Please contact us for a consultation, or schedule one at your convenience at www.templero.com/atelier.
All Temple Ro garments are sewn in San Francisco.
RSVP on Facebook or Eventbrite to reserve your spot!
See you there!
With love,
TR
