One of the reasons I founded Temple Ro was to help women feel empowered through connection to their physical bodies. Blessed with Breasts is continuing this important work by bringing women together to celebrate body image through storytelling. From the website: "Blessed with Breasts aims to remove insecurity and scrutiny surrounding the female form so that women can refocus their energy on making a positive impact." I'm IN!
The founder of Blessed with Breasts was initially inspired to start this movement after - my heart seriously SINGS as I type this - wearing a Temple Ro Jumpsuit out on the town and realizing that it was the first time in her life she had left the house without a bra on and didn't feel self conscious! This was followed by a breakthrough that we should be able to OWN our bodies, in whatever shapes and sizes, and specifically our breasts, in whatever shapes and sizes, without EVER feeling self conscious in public. She realized that she'd been holding herself to an unachievable standard based on our media crazed culture of superficiality, sexism, and consumerism, and wondered what other women's stories were about their bodies, and their breasts. What if we had an evening of storytelling, through song, dance, photography, and more, where we can share our stories about our bodies? And thus, BwB was born!
I'm continually inspired by the amazing women around me that are stepping up to empower and support each other in so many creative and important ways!
